So what about HR 2454 ?

What is HR 2454?  Did anyone hear this bill mentioned this past week?  Did anyone know about it before Friday the 26th of June?  Did you hear about it before your representatives voted for it or against it?  Have you ever heard about Cap and Trade, tax on CO2 emissions, tax on Cow Flatulence and other related and not related stuff?  This bill has various names and was passed without much problem in the House on Friday the 26th of June.  This is the bill that Mr. Waxman said he didn't need to read, the same bill he co-sponsored.  How can a guy sponsor a bill without reading it?

This is bad stuff.  If this bill passes the Senate without being challenged by the people and the Judicial Branch, we will see industry fail in this country, the costs of normal food products sky rocket, and the cost of energy hit astronomical levels, and the cost of transportation will be so high the poor will be walking or riding bikes...if they're lucky.

The next bill over the horizon is going to be health care reform.  What is the bill number on that one?  To tell the truth, at the time of this writing, I do not know.  There are many bills associated with health care.  Figuring out which one is the right one will be a challenge.

The next one after that will be something to do with gun control.  You watch for it!  It is coming.  The Federal Government is out of control and the only way it can be stopped is if the People are informed and put a stop to it all.

One of the best ways we can all be watch dogs is to closely monitor the bills that are going through the House and Senate personally.  When we write and call our representatives we should be able to cite specific bill numbers in reference so the recipients of our letters and phone calls will know that we are somewhat on the ball.  Bills can be monitored directly through http://thomas.loc.gov/

All bills and proceedings of the Legislature Branch are public record and Thomas is the best way to keep track of them.

Oh, and by the way, the true and official title for H.R. 2454 is the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.  Surprise!  You thought it was the Cap and Trade thingy didn't ya?

Guns and Other Precious Things

I listen to the radio most of the day while I am working.  Today, I heard that some city in California is doing another gun drive.  That's right folks.  You can take your gun in and get a $100 department store gift card exchange.  They will ask no questions.

First of all, there is not a gun in the world that has a market price of  $100.  Most guns, even used guns, are worth at least $250.  Another thing that bothers me is the fact that California has a "no questions asked" policy.  Do you realize what this means?  It means that you people out there who own guns in California are viewed as criminals.  Why else would they have such a policy?  Like, I'm really going to take my favorite pistol worth over $500 and let the authorities give me a $100 gift card, assume I am a criminal, and then melt it down.  Not!

I have a right to own a gun.  Next thing they are going to want me to turn in is my classic chevy pick-up.  Yes, I can see it now.  They will give classic truck owners a gift card worth $100 to their favorite department store in exchange for the gas hogging, environmentally hazardous, evil trucks.

How stupid are people any way.  Don't give California your guns.  Keep them or sell them on the open market.  There is no gun worth less than $250 especially if you have a quality gun.  The last 2 used guns that I purchased were each worth that.  One was a .22 cal. Ruger pistol and the other was a Remington 12 guage pump shot-gun.
